Which is the perfect nursing bra..?

Which is the perfect nursing bra? I found myself asking the question, as I tried to find a bra which was comfortable and supportive to see me through the last weeks of pregnancy and into the first weeks of breastfeeding. As I chatted to the lovely T-J from bras4mums as part of my ambassador role, in a long conversation on bras their fit and my difficulty in accepting the physical change from being a child free young woman to a mother of two with one on the way, and yes my breasts have changed!  T-J reassured me that I could still have a bra which I liked as well as one which supported me, but also reminded me that breastfeeding was not the time to be thinking about push up bras! Yes, I know some of you who know me will be giggling at that, but I still feel I need that wonderbra girl image all these years on.

I have tried a few bras on, and I have been honest and admitted that while they look lovely on the hanger, they don’t erm.. fit. It’s not a size issue, it’s a style issue. My shape has really altered, from my literal breast shape (they’re much fuller and rounder!) to my ribs – they’ve expanded hugely. Breast feeding bra styles which worked for me last time do not work for me this time.. which has taken me a while to get my head around! After much trying on and debating which style I preferred I have settled on a beautiful CAKE lingerie nursing bra, it’s called the Cotton Candy nursing bra, it’s a super soft bra with a racer back style which gives the feeling of lots of support whilst feeling super soft to wear! I usually prefer bras which are structured – (think scaffolding!) so this is a huge change, but I adore it, and feel very comfortable in the bra!

It comes in a variety of colours, but I’ve opted for the pretty peach/pink -“cotton candy” colour, which makes me feel the bra is as feminine as can be even though the style looks more sporty! The back has 3 hook adjustment, enabling the perfect fit around the rib cage, i’m currently on the loosest hook, which is ideal as there is room to tighten as the bra is worn! As the bra is seamless it is perfect for wearing under summer clothes, and I’ve a few tops which it works really well underneath so I’m delighted! I think the bra is fabulous value at £29.90, so do check it out if you’re looking for a comfortable but supportive maternity or nursing bra!
