Children love to copy, so when I’m putting on make up, my daughter will inevitably try to join in. Actually, I remember pleading to have my nails painted from a very young age! The problem is, most make up isn’t suitable for her delicate skin. When I was sent a Nailmatic gift set for children containing a non-toxic Nail Varnish and a natural lip gloss, I was intrigued to try it out!
The bottles are decorated with fun characters, and the colours I was sent were very natural – with just a hint of sparkle, perfect for my daughter playing Princess. Now, I have to admit, my daughter is really a little young for this kind of thing, but it’s been used just as part of play and she has loved having her nails painted!
The Nailmatic nail varnish, is rather special as is it is made without solvents, and is free from phthalates, formaldehyde, toulene and fragrances. So basically, it is free from nasties! The super special thing about Nailmatic, is it can be washed off with soap and warm water! I was a little sceptical, but it washes off really easily, so no need to worry about nasty nail varnish remover.
The nail varnish is very subtle, and it is ideal for children who want to feel like they are wearing nail varnish, without exposing them to the harsh chemicals most adult nail varnishes are full of.
The lip gloss is fruity, and is applied easily using the rollerball top – so no fear that lip gloss will get applied everywhere! I must admit I rather liked the lip gloss, for me, and I may have actually taken it for use in my handbag.. Yo also loves asking for the “fruity lips!” to be applied, and stands smiling with a big glossy smile.
Would I recommend? Yes, I love the fact that the nail varnish doesn’t smell, and is free of nasty chemicals. I discovered that you only need to apply a small amount of the nail varnish, and that the water to wash it off does need to be warm. The lip gloss is great as it’s fun, without being messy. The set is lovely, and I can imagine it would be a well-loved gift by any under 12-year-old who loves to experiment with a bit of make up! It’s priced at £14.99, which may seem expensive, but they are really nice products, and beautifully packaged! There are other colours available, and you can buy single polishes or glosses too, pop over and check out the Nailmatic Range!
